About our Parent-Toddler Montessori Atrium Group

The parent-toddler group meets once a week in the All Saints Montessori Toddler Atrium environment--a place of peace, joy, beauty and wonder.

Children explore activities of Practical Life, Care of the Self, Care of the Environment, Lessons of Grace and Courtesy, Sensorial, Language, Art materials along with seasonal presentations of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd with the aid of a trained Montessori atrium guide.

A Montessori book group, parenting support and exploration of creating a Montessori space in the home are discussed are part of the program as well.

Nurture Your Child, Nurture Yourself!

Meet others for fun, support and fellowship.  With love and respect for the child, explore with your child in a diverse faith filled environment with developmentally appropriate materials nurturing the whole child spiritually, emotionally and compassionately utilizing the pedagogy of Maria  Montessori.

Through observation of your child at work and by watching presentations by the atrium guide, you will learn how to help to foster your child's independence, confidence, concentration, and  socialization by helping him to and work with others in a communal setting. Parent education evenings and a lecture series will also be offered.

Learn how to create a Montessori environment at home nurture your child as an aid to the child and a help for life.

Within the Good Shepherd Montessori Atrium,  a rich environment where children will work at their own pace, guided by their individual interests, with Montessori sensorial, language and practical life materials as well as hands on wooden materials illustrating stories from the Bible, creative movement, music and many other activities, you will be able to observe you child as they blossom and grow.

A typical morning may include work with the Good Shepherd or Nativity set, the toddler dressing frames, feeding the fish, watering plants, baking, snack prep, setting tables for communal snack, washing dishes, looking at beautifully illustrated books or practicing grace and courtesy with a friend.  We close weekly circle time with candle lighting using simple prayer language--Amen, Alleluia, Rejoice, Shalom, Peace.

Children can join the group at any time if slots become available.
